ATHLETIC PERFECTION staff consists of coaches who are certified by the United States All-Star Federartion for levels 1 through 5 in tumbling, tosses and stunts. All coaches are CPR and First Aid Certified. Among the staff are credentialed school teachers, doctors, personal trainers, sports nutritionist, former and current college cheerleaders and dancers, and nationally ranked individual competitors in cheerleading, sports acrobatics and power tumbling.


Julie Van Os

Owner/Choreographer/Coach
Julie is USASF certified level 1-5 in stunts, tumbling and tosses and is an active member of the Northern California All-Star Alliance. In 2009, she was nominated for the Golden State Spirit Association's Coach of the Year for the state of California. Julie has over 25 years of cheer and dance experience of which include the San Joaquin Delta College Dance Production Company, the Sacramento City Jazz-Z Dance Company and a Sacramento State songleader. Julie coached West High School cheer from 1995-1999 and earned the team, as well as the city of Tracy, its first National ranking in high school cheerleading. In 1999, she started Extreme Flyers All-Star Cheer– Tracy’s first program dedicated to competitive cheer. The progam earned a USA National title in the Senior division its opening season. In 2002, she opened Athletic Perfection. The AP gym has become the most comprehensive, organized, successful youth program in Tracy . The gym offers all-star cheer teams, tumbling classes, cheer and dance camps, and provides custom coaching and choreography for local cheer and dance teams.
Julie was born and raised in Tracy. She graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Government Journalism. She has a high school teaching credential for English and has taught at both Tracy and West High School. She was the Activity Director/Leadership teacher at Tracy High School from 1999-2005. She was trained in the Character Counts and Pursuing Victory with Honor programs.
Julie has been married to her husband Mike for 12 years and has four children.
Andrea Cuestas

Coach/Choreographer/Curriculum Director/Merchandise Designer
Andrea has been coaching for Athletic Perfection since it opened in 2002 when she earned the program its first National title. She competed on Extreme Flyers, Athletic Perfection and Pyramids All-Star Cheer Teams in high school and with Cheergyms.com college team for four years. She was a JAMZ staff member and has served as judge for both GSSA and JAMZ competitions. Andrea is also ranked nationally as a soloist in cheerleading, power tumbling and gymnastics."
Andrea heads up all curriculum development for AP, assists with outside custom coaching and is the head choreographer for the program.
Andrea is a certified personal trainer and Pilates instructor. Andrea was born and raised in Tracy. She is in law school at Humphrey’s College in Stockton and is getting married July 2009.
Jennifer Moore
Coach/Gym Manager
Jenn has been a coach at AP for seven years. She has over 15 years of cheerleading
experience in which she competed on both high school and collegiate teams.
Jenn is married and is expecting her first baby, (Baylee) this summer.
Kayla Chaves

Coach/Athlete Recognition
Kayla is starting her sixth year coaching for AP. She began her career as competitive gymnast at the age of six and gradually transitioned into competitive cheerleading. She has performed in London for UCA and is on the Cheergyms.com college team for two years. Kayla is currently a preschool teacher and is pursuing her teaching credential; she would like to teach kindergarten.
Dyan Brown
Coach/Athlete Recognition
This is Dyan’s fifth year coaching for AP. She has coached all age levels. Her Mini, Youth and Senior teams have all won National titles.
She was a competitive cheerleader in high school and competitive swimmer in college. She has competed in triathlons and half-marathons.
Dyan has been married to her husband Tim for 12 years. They have three children.
Kaylin Schack
Kaylin has coached for Athletic Perfection since it opened in 2001. She competed on Extreme Flyers all-star cheer and Athletic Perfection throughout her high school years. She was name MVP of her teams and was the first Diamond Athlete of the Year for Athletic Perfection in 2003. Kaylin was a also a competive gymnast from 1989-2004. In high school, she was ranked first among all other gymnast in Northern California. Kaylin was also a competitive power tumbler and was a National Champion in 1995 and 1996. She also competed in Sports Acrobatics where she earned National medals and was name MVP of her program for three consecutive year.
Kaylin is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West where she was valedictorian of her class. She has also received a BS in Kinesiolgy from San Diego State University.
Kaylin is a graduate of Tracy High School and currently lives in Tracy where she plans to practice chiropractic care.
