D2Athletic Perfection’s All-Star Cheer Program competed at the UCA Nor Cal Classic on Sunday, January 18 in Sacramento. The gym’s Senior 3 team, Teal, took first place out of nine teams. “I was very happy with their performance,” said the team’s coach and co-owner Julie Van Os. “They had a certain energy and aura about them that I just knew they were going to place well. They were very confident and fun to watch.”

In addition to their first place finish, Senior Teal and Senior Pearl (level 4) both received bids to the Division 2 Summit to be held in Tampa,  Florida April 30  & May 1.  “It was a program goal to get Summit Bids this season for these two teams and to have achieved it so early in the season is great,” said Pearl coach and co-owner Andrea Fagundes. “It not only allows us more time for planning, but is a huge boost of confidence for these teams for the remainder of our season. We have two more months of local competitions and close to four months to train for the Summit.”

Athletic Perfection’s Youth Prep-Orange team also competed at the competition and took 4th place out of seven teams. The Prep team is the gym’s half-year program. The gym will compete again this weekend at the American Masterpiece in San Jose.
