Athletic Perfection sent three teams to the inaugural D2 Summit in Tampa Florida this past weekend. The event was a bid qualifying competition. Mint, Teal and Pearl all qualified for the event earlier this season. “This is definitely the most elite competition our program has ever attended,” commented Jennifer Moore, AP Co-owner. “Such an honor just to attend, and then to do so well, very proud of our athletes.”
All three teams hit deduction free routines earning them “Perfect Zero” buttons. Senior Teal placed 6th overall out of 37 teams in the Small Senior 3 Division. “They performed so well. Definitely had an energy and confidence about them that showed through in their skills and overall performance,” stated Teal Coach and Co-Owner Julie Van Os. ” It’s so fun to watch them perform when they’re that confident. You know then that they’re also having fun doing something they love.” Teal was the highest placing team from California in their division.
Senior Pearl placed 7th overall out of 18 teams in the Small Senior 4 Division. “We were so proud of them. They hit day one and then hit even stronger day two,” stated Pearl Head Coach and Co-Owner Andrea Fagundes. “They increased their score by a whole point on day two which is a lot considering they did the exact same routine both days. They had so much energy and a strong performance factor on day two.”
Athletic Perfection will aim again to attend the D2 Summit in 2017. New teams will be starting May 16 with try-outs May 9 and 10. Athletes ages 4-18 are encouraged to try-outs. For more information contact Julie @ (209)609-8736 or [email protected]
