Athletic Perfection All-Star Cheer Team Earns bid to Florida for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Athletic Perfection All-Star Cheer of Tracy will be heading to Florida this May to attend the D2 Summit. Earning a bid in the Small Senior Level 4 division is the gym’s Senior Pearl team. The prestigious award was won in December at the team’s first competition, and they have had continued success by placing  first for the remainder of their season. Held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort May 10-12, The D2 Summit, is the season-capping goal for many competitive All Star teams.

“The success of this team has been the direct result of athletes (and their parents) staying committed to the steady progression of each athlete’s individual skill set,” Andrea Fagundes, Co-Owner of Athletic Perfection and All-Star Director. “It’s not uncommon to see an AP Pearl athlete in our gym multiple days a week taking extra tumbling classes and private lessons to advance her skills.”

That sentiment is reiterated by  Athletic Perfection Senior Pearl athlete mom, Nicole Hollingshed as well, “They have been working so hard.. Each athlete puts their heart and soul into their performance. I couldn’t be prouder of this team.”

Athletic Perfection is Tracy’s only cheer gym and was established in 2002. The gym has attended the D2 Summit since it started in 2015. “Although we train over 200 athletes annually in tumbling and cheer, our competitive all-star program is within the D2 requirements, “ Julie Van  Os, Gym Co-owner stated. Gyms that compete in Division 2 or D2 only train 125 athletes or less for all-star teams, modeled on Division II universities that tend to have fewer students than Division I schools. “We are looking forward to continual growth of our gym and our ability to offer opportunities like this for Tracy athletes.”
